Jordynn Booe, Sr, SS/OF/RHP, Pflugerville Weiss
As a junior, Booe hit .553 with 10 Doubles, 7 Triples, 2 Home Runs, 26 RBIs, 43 Runs with 17 SB and an .819 SLG. On the mound, she pitched 71 innings with a 2.79 ERA and 113 Ks. Booe was named the 23-5A MVP. She was also named to the TSWA 1st Team All-State Team and to the TGCA All-State Team. She has signed with the University of Texas.
When did softball become your sport?
When I was in 12U I started getting some invites. I started getting seen. So things started clicking and I thought “this is definitely the sport I want to play and continue to pursue.” I started playing when I was young but that year really got things started for me.
Weiss had a young team but you guys went 3 rounds deep in the playoffs. Was that unexpected?
Yes, it was unexpected. But halfway through the season I realized we were locking in together. We had really good chemistry and everything started to click together. At that point I knew we might go far that year. Things were looking good.
What do you like about this year’s Weiss team?
I like how spunky we are. We are scrappy but we know how to put it together. We play for each other, fight for each other. There are not any individuals on this team. It’s all for the team and for each other.
How do you see your role on this year’s team?
I feel like I need to be a leader and a good role model through my actions, how I play and how I practice. Things like that.
What will it take for you guys to make another good run in the playoffs?
Stay disciplined. We have two good freshman coming in. We have 5 sophomores, 2 juniors, and 2 seniors back. We just have to work together now.
Why University of Texas?
I went to a camp in 2022 and I fell in love with UT. And I kept going to camps, getting to know the coaches, talking with coaches, And I met some of the players. One of my favorite players is a UT player. I love the campus, the atmosphere, the football team. I like how they treat their athletes and their students.
