INTERVIEW

When did softball become big for you?

I would say 12U when I got invited to an event, I think it was a USA event in Oklahoma City. I really enjoyed it and some of the best players from the United States were at that event. Playing with them I got to learn more about myself and learn how good I was compared to other athletes who I thought were good.

Who has been a big influence on you or a big encourager to you in regards to playing softball?

Outside of other softball players, I would say my parents have influenced me a bunch and have pushed me to become the best person I can be on and off the field.

What does this year’s A&M Consolidated team look like?

We are overall pretty young. We have a good senior class. There are three other players going to college to play softball. So I think senior wise we will be strong but we also have younger kids that we will have to push and show how they will have to practice.

What do you like about this team?

We have a good balance of being serious and having some funny unserious moments. We can push each other but also have fun with it. So there’s a good balance of that.

What will you guys need to do to get to the playoffs this year?

I think we are a big offensive team, so just obviously hit and make sure that we score enough runs to win and help our pitchers.

How do you see your role on this year’s team?

I think just leading off the game trying to get on base as much as possible and just try to help us score those runs like I mentioned before. And just be vocal when I need to and build up the team as much as possible.

Next level in College. Why Florida?

I’ve been going to many camps there and I’d just say it stuck from the beginning all the way until now. The coaches are amazing and it’s a really good academic school so it reaches all my goals.
